Building and Community Energy Management: Technologies, Applications and Practices (IESES 2023)

on 26-07-2023

...

The 3rd IEEE International Conference on Industrial Electronics for Sustainable Energy Systems (IESES 2023) aims to provide an open and inspiring multidisciplinary platform to exchange innovative ideas, solutions, and results in sustainable energy systems. IESES 2023 will be held in Shanghai, China, on July 26-28, 2023.

In the scope of IESES 2023, the researchers João Miguel de Almeida (IT, University of Aveiro) and Paulo Bartolomeu (IT, University of Aveiro) are hosting the special session “Building and Community Energy Management: Technologies, Applications and Practices”.

This special session aims to attract high-quality contributions to energy management technologies, applications, and practices that could reduce market barriers and overcome existing technical challenges relating to buildings and energy communities. The urgent need to reduce carbon emissions to fight climate change has driven the development of green energy and its integration into communities and buildings. The increasing adoption of electric vehicles and the development of V2X charging technologies have made it possible to integrate mobile energy storage into this ecosystem, enabling new ways of managing energy.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

P2P energy trading/sharing models;
DLT/Blockchain integration in energy management;
Intelligent infrastructures for energy ecosystems;
Smart V2X energy integration in buildings;
Renewable energy community use-cases/applications;
Vehicular energy storage management;
Energy analytics and forecasting;
AI/ML models for energy management and prediction;
Demand response and flexibility;
Energy sharing.
