The Aveiro Exhibition Park will become a true living laboratory of autonomous mobility with the presentation of the Large-Scale Demonstrations (DLEs) of the ROUTE 25 "Agenda for Autonomous, Intelligent, Interoperable and Inclusive Mobility" project, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
From 14:30 to 16:30, the public will have the opportunity to witness unprecedented tests with real autonomous vehicles - a unique experience in Portugal - along with a set of advanced solutions that showcase how technology is shaping the future of mobility.
The demonstrations will feature:
- Cooperative maneuvers between autonomous vehicles, with negotiation and execution of trajectories under safe conditions.
- Safe interaction between vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists, ensuring trust in urban spaces.
- Integrated visualization platforms, combining data from vehicles, sensors, and infrastructures, enhanced with virtual and augmented reality.
- Smart parking solutions, with real-time reservation and monitoring of parking spaces.
- Intermodal autonomous mobility, coordinating different types of autonomous transport with booking, payment, and monitoring in a single connected system.
- 5G connectivity and edge computing technologies, supporting perception and cooperative decision-making, including MEC federation between 5G operators.
A result of collaboration between technology companies, municipalities, and research centers, ROUTE 25 places Portugal at the forefront of autonomous and intelligent mobility, establishing itself as a European and international reference in cooperative and sustainable transport solutions.
