Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT) and Universiy of Beira Interior (UBI) are promoting a seminar on the latest trends in Cloud Computing, Virtualization, and Security in Hybrid Infrastructures. The event will be held on April 14, 2025, at the Amphitheatre Parada, UBI, starting at 11 am.
The seminar will feature the participation of experts from Arrow ECS Portugal, who will share valuable insights on the adoption of innovative technologies in the business sector. The topics covered are: (I) Adoption of Cloud Computing in the corporate sector; (ii) Security and virtualization in hybrid infrastructure; (iii) Emerging trends: AI applied to the Cloud and automation; (iv) Practical cases and best market practices.
Guest Speakers:
Manuel Trindade – Graduated in Computer Engineering and Information Management, with over 20 years of experience in the Information Technology sector. At Arrow ECS Portugal, he works as a Partner Enablement & Solutions Architect, assisting companies and clients in adopting cloud computing and hybrid infrastructure security. He is also a visiting professor in postgraduate and undergraduate programs at the Institute of Advanced Technologies (ISTEC).
Afonso Fonseca – Cloud Sales Specialist at Arrow ECS Portugal, focused on digital transformation and the implementation of cloud business solutions. With extensive experience in technology adoption strategies, he will address the main challenges and opportunities for companies and professionals who wish to evolve in the world of cloud computing.

Instituto de Telecomunicações will host the talk "Topologically Structured Waves and Manipulation of Particles" by the speaker Konstantion Y. Bliokh, from DIPC, Spain, on March 11th, at 3:15 p.m., Lisboa, Torre Norte (11.26 room), Instituto Superior Técnico.
Professor Konstantion Y. Bliokh will present recent theoretical and experimental results on: (i) subwavelength high-intensity vortices around 'holes' or 'islands' in 2D wave systems: from polaritons to ocean waves, (ii) generation of the Bessel-type vortices, displacement-field skyrmions, and polarization Möbius strips in sound and water waves, and (iii) manipulation of floating particles using topologically structured water waves.
