CSNet 2023 - 7th Cyber Security in Networking Conference

on 16-10-2023

... After the first successful edition of CSNet 2017 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), the second edition CSNet 2018 in Paris (France), the third edition CSNet 2019 in Quito (Ecuador), CSNet 2020 in Lausanne (Switzerland) (Online), CSNet 2021 in Abu Dhabi (UAE) (Hybrid), CSNet 2022 in Brazil, the seventh edition of Cyber Security in Networking (CSNet) conference will be held in Montreal (Canada) next October 16 - 18, 2023.

The technological disruption is generating an impact on society and leading to a new industrial revolution. This social and industrial change presents new technological environments constituted by ubiquitous systems and large amounts of information, which requires a change in the way how cyber security is designed and developed. The use of artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, and data analytics provides additional tools for security analysts to face new forms of cybersecurity threats.

In today's highly connected world, networks and systems are expected to support a wide range of critical and vital services. The resiliency of such services, which includes cyber security, adaptability, and autonomy, will be a key driving factor for future networked systems.

Topics of interest for the CSNet 2023 conference include, but are not limited to:
* AI Technologies Applied to Cyber Security

Lectures on Antennas and Propagation

on 16-10-2023

... Join us for three enlightening Lectures on Antennas and Propagation, namely:

LECTURE 1 - From engineering electromagnetics to electromagnetic engineering: Teaching/Training Next Generations
Date: October 16, 2023 | 15:00 –16:00, Room LT2, 4th Floor, Torre Norte, Instituto Superior Técnico
Date: October 19, 2023 | 09:30 - 11:00, Amphitheater of Instituto de Telecomunicações, University of Aveiro

The role of Electromagnetic (EM) fields in our lives has been increasing. Communication, remote sensing, integrated command/ control/surveillance systems, intelligent transportation systems, medicine, environment, education, marketing, and defence are only a few areas where EM fields have critical importance.

LECTURE 2 - Radiowave Propagation Modelling and Simulation
Date: October 18, 2023 | 10:00 –11:15, Campus 2, Room D. Anf. 01.01, Polytechnic of Leiria/ESTG

This IEEE AP-S DL talk will focus on electromagnetic wave propagation, a vital aspect of medium and long-range communication and radar systems. It will explore the importance of understanding propagation characteristics over the Earth's surface and realistic propagation paths. Propagation engineers and site surveyors dream of a numerical propagation tool that can calculate path losses between any two points on their digital maps.

LECTURE 3 - Antennas, Arrays, and Antenna calibration
Date: October 18, 2023 | 11:00 – 12:30, Campus 2, Room D. Anf. 01.01, Polytechnic of Leiria/ESTG
Date: October 19, 2023 | 09:30 - 11:00, Amphitheater of Instituto de Telecomunicações, University of Aveiro

Antennas are essential electromagnetic radiators, and this lecture will delve into their functioning as transducers. We will explore circuit and electromagnetic models of antennas and summarize fundamental terms and concepts.

Keynote speaker bio:
