Shannon Lab

At the Shannon Lab we research wireless networked systems as infrastructure to smart cities.
We work on mobile sensing systems, mobile ad-hoc networks, including vehicular networks, dense WiFi networks, machine-to-machine communications, and applications to the Internet of Things.
We have recently gathered a strong background on smart cities and IoT through the Future Cities project, and in close cooperation with the municipality in Porto, we have turned the city into a living lab, to which we have privileged access.
We have experience writing and executing projects funded by industry, as well as FCT, FP7, H2020, QREN, P2020, and N2020.
