Cátia Pinho has a Ph.D. in Telecommunications (2019), a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, and an Engineering Physics 5-year degree (equivalent to integrated Master). Research experience and skills include Optics (e.g., photonic integrated circuits, fiber optics and optical systems design/testing), Biomedical Engineering (e.g., signal processing and development of health information technologies), Leadership and Teamwork. Pinho has participated in several national/international funded projects and has authored/co-authored up to 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, and four book chapters.
In the scope of her Ph.D. studies performed supplementary research/training at the Optical Communications and Photonic Integration (OCPI) group from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), the Centre for Advanced Photonics and Electronics (CAPE) - Electrical Engineering Division of the University of Cambridge, and the Photonic Research Labs - iTEAM Research Institute from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV).
