Ricardo A. M. Pereira was born in 1993 in Coimbra, Portugal. There, he graduated from the Integrated Master’s in Physics Engineering degree from the University of Coimbra (UC). Afterwards, he was a researcher at UC, working on a sun-synchronous satellite simulation and control project, after which he received the #1 Best Paper Award at the 2018 International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICELTICS). Afterwards, he worked on fault prediction of plastic-molding machines and in a project on metamaterials.
Currently, he is a Ph.D. student at the University of Aveiro continuing his master’s dissertation work, studying how to increase the beam efficiency of radiative wireless power transfer systems by using quasioptics for focusing microwave beams. He is also interested in fundamental physics, space technology and renewable energies.
