Instituto de Telecomunicações took part in the preparation of the Cap Tech Space of the European Defence Agency (EDA).

The purpose of the event was to define the Technology Building Blocks for EU space cooperation strategy in close collaboration with national entities and representatives of the European Offices of Defence.

The Capability Technology Group Space aims to address challenges in space defence, such as limited cooperation in R&T and several capabilities and technological gaps to meet operational needs.

EDA’s main goal is strengthening the development and research and technology (R&T) in the Space domain, with a specific focus on space-based information and communication services such as SatCom, Space-Based Earth Observation (SBEO), Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) and Space Situational Awareness (SSA).

The event was hosted Österreichisches Bundesheer (Austrian Armed Forces), and it was the 1st CapTech Space Meeting, to which 15 Member States and about 150 entities were invited.
