The Portuguese Committee of URSI (Union Radio-Scientifique Internationale) elected new directors, following the opening of vacancies for the positions of Presidents and Vice-Presidents of several Scientific Commissions of the Portuguese Committee of URSI.
Of the members elected, distributed among the six commissions, five are researchers from the Instituto de Telecomunicações, respectively:
COMMISSION B - Waves and Fields: Electromagnetic Theory and Applications
President: Sérgio Matos (ISCTE-IUL, Instituto de Telecomunicações)
Vice-President: Filipa Prudêncio (ISCTE-IUL, Instituto de Telecomunicações)
COMMISSION D - Electronics and Photonics
President: Paulo André (Instituto Superior Técnico, Instituto de Telecomunicações)
Vice-President: João Vaz (Instituto Superior Técnico, Instituto de Telecomunicações)
COMMISSION J - Radio Astronomy
Vice-President: Domingos Barbosa (Instituto Telecomunicações)
URSI is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation under the International Council for Science, responsible for stimulating and co-ordinating, on an international basis, studies, research, applications, scientific exchange, and communication in the fields of radio science.
