Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT) was one of the institutes of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) visited by the Portuguese Navy representatives, in the scope of the Armada Research, Development, Experimentation and Innovation Monitoring Structure – Roadshow EA-IDEIA 2023, on past 3 July 2023.

IT Lisboa presented five of its projects related to Space and Defence areas, focusing on research carried out within the scope of the participation of ESA, the Portuguese Space Agency, among others.

The committee was constituted by Vice-Admiral António Henriques Gomes, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy, the Institute for the Support of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Innovation (IAPMEI) and the AED Cluster Portugal - Aeronautics, Space and Defence.

In addition to IT, INESC-ID, INESC MN and ISR were also visited.

This initiative aims to promote cooperation between the Navy, Academia, and Industry in order to find common areas for future collaboration. The 2023 edition takes place in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region, with the main areas of focus being Robotics, Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence.
