Our researcher Pedro Inácio and Professor at UBI received the Pedagogical Innovation Award from this University.

Along with four other award winners, Pedro Inácio was considered a teacher who stands out in terms of his pedagogical quality, using pedagogical practices that create academic impact in teaching and learning processes, with potential for replication and dissemination in all academic contexts.

The initiative is promoted by the Vice-Rector for Teaching, Academic Affairs and Employability, through the Pedagogical Innovation Office (GIP).

 

Pedro Inácio was born in Covilhã, Portugal. Holds a 5-year B.Sc. degree in Mathematics/Computer Science and a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering, obtained from the Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI), Portugal, in 2005 and 2009 respectively. The Ph.D. work was performed in the enterprise environment of Nokia Siemens Networks Portugal S.A., through a Ph.D. grant from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.

He has been a professor of Computer Science at UBI since 2010, where he lectures subjects related to information assurance and security, programming of mobile devices, and computer-based simulation, to graduate and undergraduate courses, namely the B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in Computer Science and Engineering. He is currently the Head of the Department of Computer Science at UBI. He is an instructor at the UBI Cisco Academy.

He is an IEEE senior member and a researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT).
