Pedro Inácio, our researcher and professor at the Department of Informatics at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), was invited to join the team of Senior Editors of the IEEE Access Journal.
IEEE Access is an international, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The journal is positioned in Quartile 1 (Q1), in all topics for which it is indexed in Scimago, and celebrated, in 2023, its 10 years of existence and publication of high-quality and impactful works. It is particularly proud of its rapid peer review cycle (on average, four to six weeks), which favors the rapid publication of important results and their visibility.
He states that “it is a true honor to be invited for the role of a senior editor of this world-renowned scientific journal, especially after getting to understand the incredible work of the team constituted by the editorial staff, managing editor, associate and senior editors and editor-in-chief (I have been serving as an associate editor for IEEE Access for the last 3 years).”
Senior Editors are IEEE Fellow or Senior members, highly qualified and experienced in their respective fields in terms of technical publishing. Senior Editors directly assist the Editor-in-Chief, Writing Director, and Associate Editors in making decisions that ensure publications of the highest quality while adhering to IEEE publishing policies and procedures. Occasionally, a Senior Editor may also be part of teams analyzing ethical issues, particularly plagiarism.
