On June 20th, Emanuel Ribeiro Lima successfully defended his PhD Thesis "Mobile Data Offloading using WiFi Networks in Urban Context: A Holistic Analysis" at FEUP. We had a prolific discussion with Marco Fiore (IMDEA Networks), Miguel Luís (IST) and Susana Sargento (UAveiro) about the potential of WiFi to boost cellular connectivity for users on the move in urban areas. A big thank you too to the co-supervisor Paulo Martins Carvalho (UMinho), and president of the jury Aníbal Ferreira (UPorto).
