Networks and Services research group (Aveiro) received the Best Demo Award at IEEE VNC 2025: IEEE Vehicular Networking Conference, in Porto. 

The winning demo, titled "Integrating V2X Communications and Infrastructure Sensing with Autonomous Mobility," was developed by João Amaral, Andreia Figueiredo, Pedro Rito, and Susana Sargento as part of the Route 25 project.

This demonstration highlights real-time perception sharing between an autonomous vehicle, a vulnerable road user (via AR glasses), and the surrounding infrastructure. It also showcases infrastructure-assisted emergency response, underscoring the maturity and real-world readiness of V2X-enabled autonomous mobility solutions.
