Haoran Chi, our researcher, was recently awarded the Best Senior Editor Award 2025 by IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, for his exceptional dedication, invaluable contributions to the scholarly review process, and professional commitment to upholding the highest standards of the Journal.
The IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics is a premier peer-reviewed journal focused on the engineering and research aspects of the theory, design, manufacture, and end-use of mass-market electronics, systems, software, and services for consumers. It serves as a vital platform for both academia and industry to exchange scientific ideas and innovative solutions that transform everyday devices into secure, smart, and collaborative systems.
The journal's expansive scope encompasses artificial intelligence and computer vision applications, Consumer Internet of Things (CIoT) and cyber-physical systems, multimedia sensing and processing, and emerging communication technologies like 6G and vehicular networks. Key research areas include home automation, embedded systems, privacy-protection protocols, energy-efficient scheduling, and sustainable "green consumerism" practices for next-generation consumer technology.
Haoran Chi has been the Senior Editor of IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics since 2024. He has been a researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações since 2019. Before that, he obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Hong Kong in July 2018, and his Bachelor's with First Class Honor from the same university in 2013. He worked as a research scholar at North Carolina State University in 2018-2019. During this journey, he gained expertise and knowledge in 5G (beyond) telecommunication, cloud/fog-based network management, ICT energy efficiency optimization, and machine learning during his career.
