5GAIner is the result of a partnership between the three entities and aims to support the development and testing of new solutions linked to artificial intelligence (AI) and the new mobile network.

The 5G + IA Networks Reliability Center (5GAIner) is located in Aveiro, at the Instituto de Telecomunicações, and will allow "to test concepts in different vertical markets, assess their reliability and enable research into 5G network structures" and that the initiative will have two parts: "In a first phase, it will accelerate some of the existing research projects in the region, being its extension to a more national and even international scope is planned later on”, stats the head of public affairs & communications of Huawei Portugal Diogo Madeira da Silva.

5GAIner will be led by Rui Luís Aguiar, researcher and professor at the University of Aveiro and national coordinator for Networks and Services research group at the Instituto de Telecomunicações.
