Susana Sargento is among Portuguese women who stand out in STEM areas (Science, technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

On the date that marks Women's Day (yesterday, March 8), the SAPO TEK team gathered 20 Portuguese women who chose the area of technology or science to make a career and have left their mark in the respective sectors of activity.

We are proud that our researcher and professor Susana Sargento from the University of Aveiro is part of this list.

Susana Sargento has developed a remarkable career in STEM areas, inside and outside academia.

She is co-founder of Veniam, a successful start-up, our researcher, develops the Aveiro Tech City project, which includes the implementation of an open lab for smart cities, is director of the Carnegie Mellon Portugal program, and has been distinguished several times for her work. In 2020, she received the Femina Award for Merit in Relevant Research.
