Title: Research Grant for holders of Licentiate or Master’s degree – BIL/BIM/Nº 113/2019 -TexBoost

Summary: A research position for one Research Grant (“Bolsa de Investigação“) is opened at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the Project TexBoost – Less Commodities more Specialities, funded by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), through the Competitiveness and Internationalization Operational Programme (COMPETE 2020) of the Portugal 2020 framework [Project TexBoost with Nr. 024523 (POCI-01-0247-FEDER-024523)]. The work is to Design of antennas to measure vital signs at 5.8 GHz and integration in a radar system.

Admission Requirements: Master or Licentiate degree on electronics and telecommunications engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent with background and experience on antenna design applied to communication systems and Radar; self-motivation for scientific research; ability for teamwork; the candidate must be fluent in Portuguese and English.
Work Objectives: Development of antennas in textile material to measure vital signs in a vehicle seat.

Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof. Pedro Pinho.
Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of renewal. Start date: November 2019 (or soon thereafter).
Monthly salary: 989.70 € (net) for Master degree 752.38€ for Licentiate degree, according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). The payment will be made by bank transfer.
Selection criteria:
Curriculum vitae/Academic evaluation  (50%)
Suitability of the candidates’ profile to the project based on the relevant work experience in the tasks described in the work plan. The Jury has the right to admit none of the candidates that applied for this position  (50%)
