Three Research Grants (“Bolsas de Investigação“) are open at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the project XiongJi, currently in progress in the Wireless Circuits - Av group.

Admission Requirements:
The candidates should hold (or finish before the starting date of the scholarships) a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent, with very good academic record (minimum 14 out of 20). Candidates must be enrolled in a doctoral program, and this condition is verified during the contractualization phase of the scholarship.
Work Objectives:
The work developed will focus on the following topics (one or more) currently addressed within the ongoing projects of the Wireless Circuits - Av Group: - Transistor Modeling (Physics based equivalent circuit or behavioral); - Power Amplifier Design and Testing; - Digital Signal Processing for Telecommunication Systems.
Applicable legislation:
A fellowship will be celebrated according to the regulations defined by FCT, “Regulation of Instituto de Telecomunicações’ fellowships” and ” Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação”, according to Law no. 40/2004, dated August 18 (Status of Scientific Research Fellow), in its actual redaction, and also by Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P. Fellowship Regulation of Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P.
Place of work:
The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof. Pedro Cabral.
6 months, with the possibility of renewal for another 6 months. Start date: August 2020 or soon thereafter.
Monthly salary:
1064.00€ according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal ( The payment will be made by bank transfer.
Selection criteria:

    Suitability of the candidates’ profile based on admission requirements and relevant work experience

    Interview of the candidate

Each criteria, and the final classification F will be evaluated in a scale (0-20). The candidates will be ordered according to:
F = C1 x 60% + C2 x 15% + C3 x 25%
In case of a tie, the tied candidates will be ordered according to C1, then C2...
The Jury has the right to not admit any of the candidates that applied for this position whenever they consider that no candidate meets the minimum requirements for the position.
