| PROJECT: | High Performance Computing Applied to Medical Data and Bioinformatics | |||||
| ACRONYM: | HIPERCAMBIO | |||||
| MAIN OBJECTIVE: | This project aims to develop parallel and scalable
algorithms for processing a huge volume of medical data, associated with breast cancer in Portuguese women, in the Microsoft Portugal High Performance Computing Lab. Algorithms for segmentation of 2D objects are taken into account and new algorithms for 3D and 4D image segmentation will be investigated in order to allow the automatic identification of breast cancer. The project also explores the problem of 2D and 3D object reconstruction from ultrasound data regarding breast cancer, based on parallel algorithms. |
