Creating and sharing knowledge for telecommunications

Project: On light: Optical Social Network

Acronym: On light: Optical Social Network
Main Objective:
Social networks are a recent phenomenon of communication, with a high prevalence of young users.
The concept of network serves as a motto for this project, which aims to create a simple communication network, using light as the transmission medium. Mixed team composed by students from secondary and higher education will be created, and each team will be responsible for the development of a module composed by an optical transmitter and receiver. When several modules are aligned with each other (in a classroom), this will create a communication network, enabling the exchange of messages between users. This way, some concepts addressed by students in physics classes (photoelectric phenomena and properties of light) are experimentally verified and used to communicate.
