Creating and sharing knowledge for telecommunications

Project: Automatic Layout Generation of Mixed-Signal ICs

Acronym: LAYGEN
Main Objective:
The main goal of the LAYGEN project is to explore and apply new computation paradigms, to the automatic layout generation of high performance analog circuits and systems, aiming at improving the design efficiency by reducing both the design cycle time and the required manpower. In order to achieve the proposed goal, a joined expertise, from project team members on both high performance analog layout design and design automation methodologies, will be considered to coordinate the work and guarantee that a state-of-the-art solution is produced by combining the design knowledge, e.g., placement and routing techniques, technological constraints, heuristic knowledge, etc., and new computation paradigms, e.g., evolutionary computation techniques to explore the solution search space, soft computing techniques to represent design knowledge and infer additional rules, etc.
