Abstract
The Time-Interleaved Block Windowed Burst Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (TIBWB-OFDM) waveform enables to achieve greater confinement in the signal spectrum that improves with the increase of the window roll- off since the out-of-band (OOB) radiation drops. However, the TIBWB-OFDM block length grows temporarily, which corresponds to a decrease of the transmission rate, limiting the increase in the spectral efficiency of the system. Furthermore, the windowing operation is responsible for the reduction in the average power of the signal, which, in turn, depends on the value of the window roll-off. As a consequence, the Peak-to-Average-Power Ratio (PAPR) of the TIBWB-OFDM signal tends to grow as the roll-off increases. Therefore, this work proposes an alternative method concerning the TIBWB-OFDM symbol construction by allowing a partial overlap between adjacent windowed OFDM symbols in order to reduce PAPR.
