Abstract
It is experimentally verified that a lens formed by tilted metallic wires enables the full reconstruction of the near-field, both in amplitude and phase. It is shown that since the electric field is measured at a significant electrical distance from the object under study the perturbation introduced by the measurement system may be less significant than in the case where the measurements are done in the immediate vicinity of the object, and thus the retrieved near-field may be more accurate. This suggests exciting applications for the tilted wire medium lens in near-field measurement.
