Abstract
Bragg gratings and multimode interferometers are employed for monitoring strain, refractive index, temperature and liquid level variations. Resolutions of 4.3 με, 1.6 ºC and 4 x 10-4 RIU were obtained for strain, temperature and refractive index respectively. Liquid level measurements revealed a sensitivity of 0.25 dB/mm.
