Abstract
Several data communication networks that canprovide guaranteed and deterministic Quality of Service(QoS) have been proposed. However, these always eitherrequire special hardware, or special device drivers. Inthis paper we propose building a network managementarchitecture capable of providing QoS guarantees overswitched Ethernet, using the standard Linux TrafficControl.
