Abstract
The main objective was to determine if the prototype allowed to evaluate the suction pattern based on the rhythmic structure and pressure characteristics. This is a prospective cohort study in a convenience sample of <36 weeks gestational age (GA) preterm.
The NS was triggered by the presence of milk.Thirty-four newborns with a mean GA of 29.4 weeks, mean birth weight 1237.5 g, with 14.7 days of sucking experience in average were investigated.
