Abstract
Several refractive index (RI) polymeric optical fiber (POF) sensors were produced by changing the roughness of the POF sensing region. The
response of the sensors to refractive index variations is repeatable and a recovery with water was observed. Resolutions below 5.5⨯10-4 RIU were
obtained allowing future developments for low-cost chemical sensing with POF.
