Abstract
Microwave photonic techniques, such as optical heterodyning of two correlated laser sources upon photo-detection, have been proposed to generate high purity millimeter wave (mmWave) signals. This approach has been applied successfully to implement reflectometry transceivers operating at millimeter wave (mmWave) frequencies with very high range resolution. This paper discusses a mmWave generation approach followed in the project RETIOT (Reflectometry Technologies to Enhance the Future Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems).
