Abstract
This article demonstrates the great utility of
distributed approaches in backscattered communication systems.
Initially, the distributed network, composed of backscatter transmitters
and receivers is demonstrated. Then this is combined
with an RF-DC converter and a fully Simultaneous Wireless
Information and Power Transfer (SWIPT) is described in detail.
Combining these two technologies demonstrates that it is possible
to reuse a city’s 5G network as a gateway for smart city
monitoring without increasing the current radiation level or
energy consumption.
