Abstract
Visible light communication (VLC) is a recent technology that focuses on using the visible light spectrum in the rapidly growing research area of optical wireless communication (OWC) to provide high-speed data transfer rates, increased security, and improved energy efficiency. The physical layer of VLC systems is susceptible to the presence of illegitimate receivers (eavesdroppers), so it is imperative that this technology considers techniques for secure transmission of information. This work presents a VLC system that provides privacy level enhancement for wireless optical communication systems considering two different techniques: a color modulation format and a hyperchaotic three-dimensional map. The successful, error-free testing for a wireless link distance of 1 m and a symbol transmission rate of 2 Baud proved the potential of this solution for secure communication of information for the users of smart phone. cell phones daily.
