Abstract
Inspired by the Portuguese tile, we propose Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSS) with geometric and symmetric patterns. These FSS can achieve different frequency responses and polarization characteristics, depending on the shape, size, and orientation of the elements. Moreover, these FSS can also create aesthetic and artistic effects, by combining different colors and materials, such as metal, dielectric, or metamaterial. In this paper we combine these aspects together to create an FSS to block signals in the 2.45 GHz band.
