Abstract
One in every seven persons worldwide suffers from a mental or substance use problem that interferes with their daily thoughts, feelings, and behaviour. Mental wellness is essential for physical health. People suffering from mental illnesses can lead normal lives if they receive appropriate therapy and support. Mental diseases are difficult to diagnose owing to the comparable and frequent symptoms of different forms of mental illnesses with minor differences. Intelligent systems can assist us in more accurately identifying mental disorders, which is a vital step in diagnosis. Using these technologies effectively can enhance patient treatment and recovery time. We review several artificial intelligence systems employed in mental healthcare, such as mobile applications, machine-learning techniques, and multimodal systems, in this paper. We also explain different forms of mental problems and how these various strategies might help the therapist diagnose, monitor, and treat individuals with mental disorders.
