Abstract
Great demands are imposed to the upcoming communication systems regarding, bandwidth, latency, and data-rates. This challenging context can lead to the saturation of the electromagnetic spectrum and one way to overcome this is to have reconfigurable communication systems which can operate with different terminals by quickly changing their specifications. This work presents a phase shifting device, with a single symmetric bias for use in reconfigurable antennas. Two microstrip segments are controlled using PIN diodes, one of them with more λ/4 of electrical length. The phase shifter was fabricated and characterized, validating the low
insertion losses between both operation states, with an 88.7º phase shift.
