Abstract
The proposal suggests utilizing 1D-Airy waves, generated by manipulating the unit cell of artificial materials at 28 GHz, in a wireless power transfer (WPT) application. These waves possess self-healing,
dispersion-less, and self-bending attributes, enhancing their efficiency in carrying energy over long distances compared to conventional dispersion beams. While initially challenging to produce, advancements in artificial material research, specifically in tuning subwavelength-sized unit cells' phase
and amplitude, have facilitated the creation of Airy beam profiles. Previous studies were limited to lower microwave frequencies (1); this study includes analytical analysis at lower mm-wave frequency, i.e., 28 GHz, applicable for mm-wave WPT. This will also reignite interest in the antenna community to design, generate, and use it for WPT applications.
